Description
Our traditional and feature-rich workshirt, in a lightweight and breezy indigo cotton and linen fabric perfect for the warmer months. The triple chainstitch side seams and shoulders are still here, as well as the custom natural corozo buttons. The unlined collar has a beautiful carve to it and looks great open. These fabrics were all inspired by early 19th and 20th century French and American handspun indigo dyed fabrics. Originally made on a narrow handlooms the fabrics were handsewn together and used for anything and everything in early homesteads. There are surviving examples of skirts, aprons, towels, and bed linens. All beautifully handmade and loved for many years. Inevitably these pieces include many worn in areas that have been repaired and patched. For this collection we showed these original handmade fabrics to a specialist mill in Chennai that was able to recreate this rustic look and feel while also making the fabric super comfortable against the skin. Its lightweight enough for the dead heat of the summer sun, while the cotton and linen fibers help to regulate the temperature on the skin. The indigo yarns will fade and soften with each wash and each day spent enjoying the sun. Collar is unlined and unfused Full five button placket with corozo nut buttons Wythe signature feather pleats for ease of movement Long sleeve yarn Made in India Machine wash cold, dry low or line dry
